Aqua Fitness Class at Westport YMCA to Benefit VFW Auxiliary

Water workout Saturday, May 21, lead by instructors who are also VFW Auxiliary Officers, raises money to support veterans.

The Westport YMCA pool is the place to be on Saturday, May 21 at 4:30-5:30PM for a fun water workout to raise money and awareness for the VFW Auxiliary of Joseph J. Clinton Post No. 399 on Riverside Avenue in Westport.

A suggested donation is $20, cash or check made out to the VFW Auxiliary 399. Donations support veterans in many ways through the Auxiliary, and are tax deductible and will be acknowledged with a letter.

“You do not have to swim or even get in the pool to participate. Come cheer us on or sing to the music while watching from the Y’s viewing balcony,” explains Joan Evon, Auxiliary President.

“We are also collecting many items for Homes for the Brave through May 31,” chimed in Kondub.

The Month of May has been deemed Memorial May by the Westport Y, which kicked off with a Meet-n-Greet coffee hour on May 1 with VFW and Auxiliary members.

The Y will be expanding more veteran involvement throughout the year with the help of the Evon, Kondub, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Questions regarding the class May 21, the VFW or the VFW Auxiliary, and the Aqua Fitness program maybe be directed to Aqua Fitness Coordinator Patty Kondub at nortonpk@icloud.com.
