Downtown 2020 Committee Delays Selection of Master Planning Firm

The delay is to "permit the committee time to more fully review the seven proposals received from firms responding to the request," according to a statement released by the committee.

Westport’s Downtown 2020 Committee announced on Monday that it will delay selection of a firm to perform a master plan for Westport's downtown area after issuing a Request for Proposal for the firm in March, according to a release sent by the committee.

The delay is to "permit the committee time to more fully review the seven proposals received from firms responding to the request" and "permit the committee to meet with the Planning and Zoning Commission in April."

According to the release, the committee plans to discuss at the meeting the responses received from consulting groups, the process to award the contract, and the efforts to coordinate its master planning work with the commission.

First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff announced last month that he reappointed the members of the Downtown 2020 Committee for a one-year term expiring March 2014.
