Westport Physician Elected Fairfield County Medical Assn. Secretary

Andrew C. Wong, MD has been elected secretary of the board of trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) at its recent annual meeting. Professionally, Dr. Wong is a board certified internist with Hartford HealthCare in Westport. He serves as Regional Medical Director (Lower Fairfield County). He will now help lead the FCMA, a physician organization of nearly 1,000 physician members which he hopes to grow in size and influence. Dr. Wong makes his home in Fairfield with his wife and two children.

"As a physician, my first commitment is to my patients' well-being, and I believe that extends beyond the exam room," said Dr. Andrew Wong. "Serving as secretary of the board of trustees for the Fairfield County Medical Association gives me the opportunity to advocate for policies that enhance patient care, support my colleagues, and advance the medical profession as a whole. By working together to shape better public policy, we can address the challenges facing healthcare and ensure a healthier future for our community."

Founded in 1792 by a Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly, the purpose of the Fairfield County Medical Association is to organize the doctors of medicine of Fairfield County, Connecticut, to protect the art and science of medicine, to enlighten the public in matters of health, and to promote the health of the community.

"As a primary care physician with Hartford HealthCare, Dr. Wong brings invaluable insights from his experience on the front lines of patient care. His perspective will be instrumental in helping us advocate for policies and initiatives that advance the medical profession and improve healthcare for patients across our region."

FCMA offers a wide range of services to its nearly 1,000 physician members, including legal assistance, practice management, professional networking, and legislative advocacy. Additionally, FCMA provides opportunities for continuing education, shared communication, and access to exclusive discounts with industry experts.

Other officers of Fairfield County Medical Association elected at the annual meeting were President Joseph Feuerstein, MD; Vice President Raymond Lorenzoni III, MD; Treasurer Craig Olin, MD; and Immediate Past President Camelia Lawrence, MD.


More about Dr. Wong

Andrew C. Wong, MD is an internist in Westport, CT and has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Wong received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from New York University Medical School in New York, and completed his residency in internal medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He worked as a Primary Care Site Director for Stamford Health prior to joining Hartford HealthCare St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Dr. Wong is board certified in internal medicine as well as obesity medicine, and is a member of the American Medical Association, Connecticut State Medical Society and the FCMA.
