Fire Danger In Wilton Expected To 'Significantly Increase': Officials
Fire danger is expected to be very high on Thursday and may be extremely high on Friday with the potential for Red Flag Warnings

Fire danger is expected to significantly increase over the next few days as warm dry air filters into the state. Please note that today's forest fire danger report remains at a 'very high' level. Very High fire danger is expected this afternoon.

Fire danger is also expected to be very high on Thursday and may be extremely high on Friday with the potential for Red Flag Warnings to be issued if showers do not provide any significant relief from the very dry conditions. Long range computer models are forecasting very little rainfall during the next 5 days. Some rainfall is possible early next week as a warm front crosses the area Monday and Tuesday.
DEEP and local agencies are working to contain several active fires across the state. As of 8:00 AM this morning a total of 63 brush fires have occurred. Please avoid all affected State Parks and Forests, as well as the blue-blazed Mattabesett Trail.

As a result of this, any burn permits issued are no longer valid and all residents are advised not to have any outdoor fires.
