Moody's report credited Wilton with maintaining a strong housing market, supported by continued residential demand
WILTON, CT — Moody’s Investors Service has reaffirmed the Town of Wilton’s Aaa credit rating, recognizing the community’s financial health and economic strength.
The designation, the highest possible rating assigned by Moody’s, confirms Wilton as a reliable borrower and enables the town to secure lower interest rates when financing capital projects. Officials said the top-tier rating will help minimize borrowing costs and benefit taxpayers.
Moody’s report credited Wilton with maintaining a strong housing market, supported by continued residential demand, and highlighted the advanced educational and professional attainment levels of its residents. The agency also cited Wilton’s sound fiscal management, consistent property tax collections, and substantial reserves.

The report further noted the town’s low exposure to climate risks and the presence of a well-managed municipal workforce. Moody’s also pointed to the expansion of Dutch microchip manufacturer ASML in Wilton as an indicator of the town’s economic desirability and long-term stability.
First Selectman Toni Boucher welcomed the announcement, calling it “tremendous news” and a reflection of both the town’s fiscal discipline and the community’s support for recent budgetary initiatives. Wilton voters recently approved the FY26 town budget by a wide margin.
