Sister Eleanor Hagerty, 88, of Wilton, Passed Away
Sister Eleanor came to live at Villa Notre Dame in Wilton in 2005, and moved to Lourdes Health Care Center in 2010.

Wilton, CT — Sister Eleanor Hagerty, a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, died on June 21, 2016, at Lourdes Health Care Center in Wilton, CT at age 88.
Eleanor Catherine was born on March 22, 1928, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of John Hagerty and Mary McLaughlin Hagerty, both from Donegal, Ireland. After pronouncing her vows as a School Sister of Notre Dame in 1948, she began teaching at St. John, Catonsville, Md. She also taught at Catholic Schools in Brooklyn, N.Y., Jaffrey, N.H., Cambridge, Mass., Wakefield, R.I., and East Meadow, N.Y.
Sister came to live at Villa Notre Dame in Wilton in 2005, and moved to Lourdes Health Care Center in 2010.

She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Galvin and Mary Jewell, of Roxbury, MA; Susan and Edward Miller, Harwich, MA; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hagerty, Ocean Bluff, MA. Sister Eleanor was pre-deceased by her brothers Michael Francis and John Joseph. She is also mourned by nieces, nephews, and their families, and by her community, the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Visiting hours will be held at Villa Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Road in Wilton, CT, on Friday, June 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Christian wake service at 6:00 p.m. Friends and relatives invited. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 25, at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel at Villa Notre Dame.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel, CT.
