Student Sent to Hospital After Fight at Wilton's Athletic Stadium

Police said a fight between Ridgefield and Wilton students sent one teen to the hospital as a result of his injuries.

WILTON, CT — A Ridgefield student was injured in a fight at Wilton's athletic stadium on Wednesday evening, according to Lt. Stephen Brennan. Police said they were notified of the altercation on Wednesday a little after 10 p.m. The incident occurred earlier in the evening at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the athletic stadium on Kristine Lilly Way.

Some Ridgefield High School students publicized a scavenger hunt game, and Wilton students became aware that Ridgefield students would be coming to the football field, according to Brennan. Police said several juveniles from Wilton and Ridgefield, all believed to be high school students, were involved in the altercation which led to a Ridgefield student being assaulted and later brought to the Danbury Emergency Room for injuries suffered during the altercation.

The administrations at both Wilton and Ridgefield High School have been notified, and no arrests have yet been made. The Wilton Police Youth Division is investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to call Officer Ross at (203) 834-6260.
