Wilton area restaurants, farms and schools across the state will participate in CT Farm-to-Chef Week 2016.
WILTON, CT — Connecticut Farm-to-Chef Week, an annual showcase of Connecticut-grown, local ingredients featured in dishes developed by chefs, occurs every September. This year it will run September 18-24, 2016.
“This promotion is an initiative of the department’s Farm-to-Chef Program, which connects farmers and producers of Connecticut Grown products with chefs and other culinary professionals,” according to the Farm-to-Chef Week website. Over the past two years, participants have served over 107,136 Connecticut grown meals, have offered locally grown dishes at multi-course farm dinners, food-trucks, restaurants, coffee shops, school cafeterias and ice cream parlors and more.
Participating Connecticut farmers markets include Monroe Farmer’s Market, Bridgeport Farmer’s Market, Black Rock Farmers Market and others across the state. Participating schools include The Hotchkiss School, Weston High School, Wilton's Middlebrook School, Westport Public Schools and others.
