Wilton Pedestrian Bridge Gets Another Approval: Report

Pending a final state hurdle, the nearly one-mile walk between the train station and town center could be a thing of the past.

WILTON, CT — Plans for a pedestrian bridge linking the Wilton Train Station and town center was approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission last week, reports the Hour. The bridge would eliminate nearly one mile of walking from Town Center to the train station.

A pending permit for the project still must be approved at the state level, but the commission's approval is the final local hurdle for the project. Town Planner Bob Nerney says the town expects to hear from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for approval within the next few days.

However, the grant says the project must be completed by mid-September.
