Wilton Police Charge 2 Drivers With DUI On Danbury Road

WILTON, CT — Last week, Wilton police stopped two motorists driving under the influence in town.
At 2:20 a.m. on Nov. 17, police pulled over a Ford Escape they say was having difficulty maintaining its lane travelling southbound on Danbury Road.
The driver, Neiser Durango Vega, 23, of Puritan Lane in Stamford, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the police report.

Vega failed to perform the standardized field sobriety tests to standard, and submitted to chemical testing. The tests showed blood alcohol levels of 0.0993 and 0.0835 consecutively. In Connecticut, the legal blood alcohol content limit for driving is 0.08 percent for those 21 and older.
Police charged Vega with DUI and failure to maintain his lane. He was released after posting 7 percent of his $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 27.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Nov. 14, police pulled over a Chevrolet Silverado they say was having difficulty maintaining its lane while speeding southbound on Danbury Road.
The driver, Raymond Merrill, 45, of Trumbull Highway in Lebanon, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the police report.
Merrill failed to perform the standardized field sobriety tests to standard, and refused to submit to chemical testing.
Police charged Merrill with DUI/third offense, speeding and failure to maintain his lane. He was released after posting 7 percent of his $300 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Nov. 25.
