Wilton Police Charge Bethel Man With DUI, Philly Woman In 2019 Court Case
Wilton police report DUI charge for Bethel man and court violation for Philadelphia woman in separate cases.
WILTON, CT — A Bethel man is facing a DUI charge after officers said he was driving the wrong way on Danbury Road early Sunday morning.
According to the Wilton Police Department, around 3:40 a.m. on Oct. 19, officers stopped a black Lexus LS350 that was traveling north in the southbound lane and following another vehicle too closely. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Emanuelle Duran of Bethel, admitted to consuming alcohol and smoking marijuana before driving.
Police said Duran was unable to complete the standardized field sobriety tests to standard. He later submitted to chemical testing, which showed a blood alcohol content of 0.0655 percent.

Duran was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain the proper lane, and following too closely. He was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 31.
In a separate case, a Philadelphia woman turned herself in to Wilton police on Oct. 16 in connection with a 2019 larceny case.

Police said 40-year-old Brenay Shantell Maxwell of Philadelphia was taken into custody for first-degree failure to appear. The charge stems from missed court dates following a prior case involving theft and unauthorized use of credit cards.
Maxwell posted a $150,000 bond and is due to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Oct. 27.
