Wilton Police Department Welcomes 2 New Officers

The Wilton Police Department swore in two new officers on Nov. 6.

WILTON, CT — The Wilton Police Department swore in two new officers on Nov. 6.

Officer Norville Yearwood comes to the WPD following an 18-year career with the New York State Police. He also spent several years working in the private sector security at Madison Square Garden.

Yearwood attended High School in Queens, NY and received a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Dominican University in Orangeburg, NY. While a machinst mate in the U.S. Navy, he served aboard the USS Nassau, stationed in Norfolk, VA.

Officer Brian Levy has been a police officer since 2014, working the equivalent of full-time hours across two separate departments in New York.

Levy attended high school in Central Valley, NY. He later received an associate's degree in liberal arts from Rockland Community College, and a certificate in computer administration from the Lincoln Technical Institute.

Over the next two months, Officers Yearwood and Levy will attend an abbreviated police academy training and will then spend three months in field training, familiarizing themselves with the Wilton community.
