Accumulating Snow Expected for Windsor Saturday
Here we go again. After some snow fell this morning, more is expected tomorrow. Here's the latest on how much to expect.
A coating to up to three inches of snow fell in Connecticut this morning and more snow is on the way for Saturday afternoon too. Again, it appears that eastern parts of Connecticut will see the most snow from this upcoming storm.
On Friday, New London County was the big winner in snow accumulation with several spots recording up to three inches of snow, which led to numerous school delays. And New London County again looks to be the big accumulation winner on Saturday as a “Winter Storm Watch” is in effect there for between 4-7 inches of snow on Saturday.
While Saturday is just a day away, leading meteorologists in Connecticut stress it’s still hard to predict exactly how much snow may fall because the computer models are not all in agreement.

But the latest information shows that the western half of the state may see 1-2 inches of snow Saturday afternoon and eastern parts of the state may see 3-5 inches before the snow ends Saturday night, says WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons.
Simmons said “the snow will be finishing up shortly. High temperatures today will be around 32°. Dry weather to start on Saturday, snow expected Saturday afternoon! Amounts will be higher in eastern Connecticut compared to western Connecticut! Quiet weather on Sunday!
In an updated blog post, NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote Friday morning that “This is a tough forecast! 3-6" of snow seems possible now along the I-395 corridor with 1-3" on the I-91 corridor. I expect that this could change quite a bit in either direction given the difficulty our computer models have had with this storm.”

Saturday’s Snow Details via the National Weather Service:
Snow is expected to start falling in Connecticut after noon Saturday. The morning should be fine for any errands you need to run. Temps never hit 30 degrees during the day and the wind chill factor will make it feel like it’s just 10 to 15 degrees.
Once the snow ends Saturday, temps will plunge and it will be freezing with temps bottoming out in the teens.
