On Saturday, May 19th, 2012 the Windsor Jaycees will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary of involvement with the Shad Derby Parade & Green Festivities. Since 1972, the Jaycees have assumed the responsibilities of planning & organizing Windsor's Most Beloved Festival, which started in 1966 in Windsor.
The Jaycees would first like to thank all the residents of the Town of Windsor for their support and for continuing to make the Shad Derby Festival a signature day for the Town of Windsor. The last 40 years have seen so many changes in Windsor but one thing has remained the same - the Windsor Shad Derby Parade & Green Festivities.
Thank you Windsor for realizing that no matter whether your black or white, rich or poor, republican or democrat, a Yankees or Red Sox fan the Windsor Shad Derby on the 3rd Saturday in May is the day we are all one for a better Windsor.

The Jaycees respect and appreciate all your hard work. Thank You.
The Jaycees would also like to thank their fellow Windsor Shad Fest Bureau members for their roles in running and preserving Shad Derby events annually in Windsor.
Thank you to the Windsor Rod & Gun Club, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, the Windsor Junior Women's Club, the Windsor Civitans, the Windsor Lions Club, the Windsor Kiwanis, the Exchange Club of Windsor, the Masons and the Windsor Historical Society.
We encourage any resident of Windsor to get involved in any of these great civic organizations. Windsor is truly a better place to live, work and visit thanks to the contributions of all these hard working organizations.
Last but not least - A very special thank you goes out to all the former men & women who have ever volunteered & served under the name Windsor Jaycees, Jaycee Wives or Valley Jaycees. Without your commitment & dedication in organizing all aspects of the Shad Derby Parade & Green activities & responsibilities the Shad Derby simply would not happen in Windsor. Thank you for preserving the Shad Derby the last 40 years in Windsor!
The Windsor Jaycees dedicate the 2012 Windsor Shad Derby Festival to Windsor's historic past, present & promising future. To the men, women, organizations & businesses that have made and continue to make a difference for a better Windsor - Thank You.
Long live the spirit of the Windsor Shad Derby Festival!
Sincerely,
The Windsor Jaycees
