Volunteers Needed to Read to Windsor Students

There are more than 65 grammar-school classrooms in Windsor Public Schools, and the Windsor Chamber of Commerce donates one book to each of those classrooms on an annual basis.

The effort is a part of the Chamber's "Businesses Fueling Minds Through Books" program.

The program features an opportunity for local businesses to donate the cost of one book, and sending a volunteer to read the book to one of the classrooms on March 27.

According to Chamber Executive Director Jane Garibay, sponsors have not been shy this year, alloting the program with enough to gift books to each public Windsor classroom.

But there's still a need for readers, she says.
