Bernardini, Dedonis, Ungewitter: Recent Death Notices From Windsor

John Bernardini, 76, beloved husband of Donna (Simmonds) Bernardini, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He began his career as a high school English teacher at Windsor High School, where he inspired countless students with his creativity, warmth, and humor. He later served as the Youth and Family Services Director for the town of Windsor, where he initiated and managed vital programs including municipal counseling services for children and families, the Montessori School, the Windsor Discovery Center and Head Start programs supporting disadvantaged and special needs preschoolers.

Anne Dedonis, 45, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2025. She was raised in Enfield and graduated from Enrico Fermi High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Westfield State University and was employed as a retail associate with various retail stores over the years. Anne had a quiet nature about her, but was never afraid to weigh in and give her opinion when it mattered to her. She faced many of life's challenges with courage and dignity and always kept her sense of humor. Anne had a smile that would light up the room and was known for having "the best hair in the family."

Margaret (Walker) Ungewitter, 87, of Broad Brook, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025. She graduated from Windsor High School, then accepted a position in the finance department at CIGNA and retired after 44 years of dedicated service. In her younger years, Marge spent a lot of time in East Windsor when her dad owned Skylark Airport, where she learned how to fly, and spent many years as an EMT when her father later owned and operated Skylark Ambulance. Her strong work ethic and drive inspired her family to be the best they could be every day.
