February 8, 2011: Residents Show Opposition to Dog Pound Relocation, a Windsor Resident's Evacuation from Egypt, and Snow Days Take a Toll

Tuesday brings some residents' opposition to the proposed relocation or cutting back of Windsor's dog pound space, the second part of a Windsor resident's evacuation from Egypt, and a full day of classes due to an excess of snow days.

1. The snow has returned. There is a 90-percent chance of precipitation before 3 p.m. The high for the day is in the mid-20's, but high gusts of wind, as high as 34 mph, will blow throughout the day. Temperatures will drop into the single digits tonight, with a wind chill factor of -2, according to National Weather Service reports.

2. Last night at the Town Council meeting, residents showed up to voice their concerns over a proposal to move or cut back Windsor's dog pound space. Residents also showed their support for over $300,000 in renovations to the Senior Center. Here is a recap.

4. The excess of snow days for Windsor students have begun to take a toll. Originally scheduled as a half-day, Windsor Public Schools will have a full day of classes to make up for time lost in the classroom.
