Good-News Friday: Feb. 1, 2013

A true trailblazer, a delicious opportunity to give and possibly the cutest thing you've seen in 2013.

Thanks to Chamber of Commerce Director Jane Garibay for sharing news that will certainly bring a smile to your face on this "Good-News Friday."

Jane's niece, Jennie Engelmann, is blazing a trail at Villari's of Windsor as the first special needs participant of the martial arts studio.

Not only is Jennie, who has Down Syndrome, having a blast at Villari's (the smile on her face in the photo to the right says it all), she's excelling with flying colors. On Jan. 25, she passed a test and earned her yellow belt.

The true hero in this story, Jane says, is Villari's because they've taken her as a student and helped her along the way to her recent athletic accomplishments.

On this "Good-News Friday," we're also sharing a tasty opportunity to give back.

Throughout the month of February, Moneta Moments is selling $1 homemade bone-shaped dog treats and heart-shaped cookies (which are delicious). Proceeds from the sale of the treats and cookies go directly to Windsor Animal Care and Control and Mary's Place, respectively.
