Bruhn, Chicoler, Scott: Recent Death Notices From Windsor

WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Windsor.

Elsie Marie (Bull) Bruhn, 89, beloved wife of the late Henry W. Bruhn, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, after a short illness. Marie, affectionately known as "Toot" by family and long-time friends, graduated with letters from softball and basketball from Bloomfield High School in 1953. She had a long and successful career in banking, retiring from Bank of America at the age of 85. Marie dedicated her free time to various local groups, including the Windsor Women's Club for 49 years, the Windsor Junior Women’s Club, and The Windsor Historical Society. She was also an original member of the Descendants of the Ancient Founders of Windsor (DAFW).

Betty (Wood) Chicoler, 91, beloved wife of Rober t W. Chicoler, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at Suffield House. Betty and Robert met in high school and married in 1953, sharing close to 72 years of marriage. Before retiring, Betty was employed by Bank of America. She enjoyed volunteering at the Windsor Historical Society as well as vacationing and spending time with family and friends. Betty and her family enjoyed spending summer vacations in Vermont at their cottage on Lake Dunmore. She also loved celebrating the holidays, and took great pride in baking and decorating, especially during the Christmas season.

Pauline (Sinclair) Scott, 80, beloved wife for 55 years of the late George Alexander Scott, passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 31, 2025. Born in Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies, she went on to become a member of the Jamaican national netball team and traveled around the world to compete against several commonwealth countries. She and George emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1977 and later came to the United States, settling in Windsor in 1979. Pauline worked alongside her husband and her children in their family business, Scotts’ Jamaican Bakery, which they started on Albany Avenue in Hartford.
