Man Attacked By His Own Dog, Windsor Police Say
Police say the dog had previously shown aggressive behavior.
WINDSOR, CT — A Windsor man was injured Saturday afternoon after his own dog attacked him on River Street, police said.
According to the Windsor Police Department, officers were called around 4:37 p.m. to the 900 block of River Street for a report of a dog attacking a man. When officers arrived, they found the man on the ground with his pit bull nearby.
Police said officers safely secured the dog. The man told officers he owns the dog and said it has been aggressive in the past.

The man suffered multiple bite wounds and cuts. He was treated by officers at the scene and then taken to a hospital.

The dog was taken to the Windsor Animal Shelter, and Windsor Animal Control was notified. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor police at 860-688-5273.
