Town Of Windsor To Receive Grant For Building Of Wilson Gateway Park
A $4 million grant from the Community Investment Fund 2030 program will turn an empty lot into a multi-dimensional park.

WINDSOR, CT — The town of Windsor is set to receive a $4 million grant from the Community Investment Fund 2030 (CIF) program, with plans to turn a long-vacant lot adjacent to the Interstate 291 on-ramp into a park.
Wilson Gateway Park aims to turn the outdoor space on Route 159 into a multi-dimensional park providing an array of amenities for neighborhood residents as well as the entire community. It would include accessible parking areas/walkways, an inclusive playground, pavilions/lawn amphitheater, restrooms, art and a large event plaza for community gatherings.
The land has been vacant since the discontinuation of an annual carnival there several years ago.
