Warriors Rout East Hartford for 13th-Straight Win

Windsor boys basketball extended their win streak to 13 Wednesday night at home with a 94-63 win over East Hartford.

The Warriors have now won their past five games by an average of 34.6 points, but things were close early on as East Hartford gave Windsor a run for their money.

Windsor (14-1) posted 19 points in the first quarter, but led by only two points at the start of the second. Lapses in Windsor's help defense led to some easy East Hartford layups, but the Warriors kicked it into high gear, finishing the second quarter on a 10-2 run and heading to the locker room up by ten points.

What changed was simple: work ethic.

"We played harder. They weren't going to give [the game to us]. Everybody wants to beat Windsor," said Windsor guard Egerton Anderson.

"[In the first quarter], we just didn't play as hard as they did," Anderson added. "We came out lackadaisical. We didn't play as hard as we should have on defense."

Windsor Coach Ken Smith told his team that they need to play harder, and that's exactly what they did. Windsor out-worked their visitors from East Hartford for the remainder of the game, extending their lead to 18 by the end of the third quarter and never looking back. Windsor outscored East Hartford 51-53 in the second half.

Mike Fraylon led all Windsor scorers with 14 points, while Anderson and Curry, who hit three shots from beyond the arc, recorded 13 points a piece.

Windsor will host East Catholic on Thursday night. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
