When Windsor Was Founded at the Historical Society
Al Boehm will deliver a talk to bring the events of 1633 to life.

Tonight, those in attendance at the will take a trip back in time to 1633 when William Holmes commanded a crew and "sailed up the Connecticut River aboard a shallop to found Windsor on September 26, 1633."
Al Boehm will deliver a talk at the Historical Society intent on bringing September 1633 to life; answering such questions as "What is a shallop?" "How was is powered?" "Who was on the boat?" and "What were the crew and settlers wearing?"
Boehm's artwork will serve as the foundation of the lecture. His work "reveals a landscape based on native Algonquian land management practices quite different from the European practices that define our town landscape today," according to the Historical Society.
