Windsor Rabbi Leads Casting Away of Sins on Rosh Hashanah
Rabbi Alan Lefkowitz and members of Windsor's Congregation Beth Ahm celebrated a new year and cast away their sins on the first day of Rosh Hashanah.

Members of Windsor's observed the coming of a new year and the first full day of Rosh Hashanah Thursday, casting away their sins in a symbolic ceremony led by Rabbi Alan Lefkowitz on the banks of the Farmington River.
During the ritual, which is called Tashlich (pronounced TAHSH-lick), members and friends of the synagogue tossed bread, symbolizing their sins, into the river.
The ceremony was held following morning services at the synagogue.
