Another Day, Another Referendum In Windsor Locks
Just over 1,150 residents cast their ballots Tuesday in the fourth referendum on the proposed 2025-26 town budget.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — In the Human Beinz's quirky Top 10 hit song from 1967, "Nobody But Me," the word "no" is repeated 62 times. Registered voters in Windsor Locks are fast approaching that mark, as they again soundly rejected the proposed 2025-26 town budget on Tuesday for the fourth time.
Vote totals for the two questions put to taxpayers were:
- Question 1: Shall the Town's Operating Budget for fiscal year July 1, 2025 - Jun·e 30, 2026, in the amount of $60,979,244 as recommended by the Board of Finance, be approved? No - 792; Yes - 368
- Question 2: Shall the Town's Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District Budget for fiscal year July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026, in the amount of $505,590 as recommended by the Board of Finance, be approved? No - 760; Yes - 396
Board of Finance chair Lori Quagliaroli said a special meeting of the panel is scheduled for Friday, July 18 at 5 p.m.

The next referendum is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29 from noon to 8 p.m. Voters in District 1 will cast their ballots at town hall, while District 2 residents will vote at Windsor Locks High School.
