Arrest Made In 20-Year-Old Windsor Locks Homicide Case
An investigation that once went cold has now resulted in an arrest and pending extradition to Windsor Locks.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Windsor Locks police Wednesday announced arrest in a two decades-old homicide case.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Marshals-led Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team and Dublin Police arrested Mohammed Ali in Dublin, Ohio. Ali, 38, was wanted by the Windsor Locks Police Department in connection with the murder of Mureed Hussain in February 2005.
On Jan. 13 of this year, an arrest warrant was issued by Superior Court in Connecticut, charging Ali with conspiracy to commit murder and criminal liability for acts of another (murder).

On the morning of Feb. 9, 2005, Windsor Locks police were dispatched to the intersection of South Main Street and School Street after a body was found. Investigators learned that the 35-year-old Hussain was the person who had died, Windsor Locks police said.
Hussain, who was from New York, had been shot and killed and detectives from Windsor Locks and Connecticut State Police began an investigation into his death.
After several years, the case went cold, police said.
On February of last year, Windsor Locks detectives reopened the homicide case. Through what they described as "advancements in forensic technology, interviews, canvassing, and a re-examination of the evidence seized in 2005," detectives developed suspects.
With the assistance from the Hartford State's Attorney’s Office, state police, staffers at the state forensic lab in Meriden, along with the New York City Police Department, Windsor Locks detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Ali, who was formerly of Brooklyn.
This case is still on going and additional suspects have been developed, police said.
