Broad Brook Fire Department Honors Members at Annual Holiday Meeting

The department recognized years of service and presented annual awards during its holiday celebration.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — The Broad Brook Fire Department held its annual meeting and Christmas banquet Saturday, officials say.

The holiday meeting brought together active members, retired firefighters, special guests, and town officials to celebrate the holiday season and recognize outstanding service.

During the event, Capt. Blaine Simpkins Jr. received a 20-year service award, and Richard Paradise was honored for 10 years of service. The department also presented its annual awards, naming Brenden Barkyoumb as Firefighter of the Year and Chevy Koehler as Junior Firefighter of the Year. Brianna Bushey was recognized as Member of the Year, and Thomas Arcari was named Driver of the Year.

Department officials also thanked Maneeley’s Banquet and Catering for the food and service and expressed appreciation to Karie Madigan for her support of the event.
