Barberi, Cmara, Gyllenhammer: Recent Death Notices From The Windsors

Condolences are extended to the families and friends of those who have recently died.

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Windsor Locks and East Windsor.

Anne (Christian) Barberi, 104, of West Suffield and Windsor Locks, wife of the late Robert F. Barberi, passed away on March 8, 2025. She graduated from Suffield High School, and continued her education in secretarial school. Affectionately known as 'Queenie,' she was devoted to her family, working endless days on the Christian Family Tobacco Farms with her brothers and sisters. With her free time, Anne and her husband enjoyed duckpin bowling, and were very involved with the Windsor Locks Lions Club, where Anne maintained the secretarial duties.

Shirley (Buckland) Cmara, 94, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025. She worked for 30 years in banking at CBT, retiring after a distinguished career. In her retirement, she dedicated 10 years of service delivering meals for Meals on Wheels. A devoted parishioner of Mary, Gate of Heaven Parish, she also enjoyed being an active member of the Copper Hill Women's Golf League and the Windsor Senior Bowling League.

Ronald Gyllenhammer, 64, of Broad Brook, passed away on March 9, 2025. He had a lifelong passion for mineralogy, dedicating much of his time to studying and collecting mineral specimens from around the world. Ron was deeply involved in his community and his faith. For several years, he found peace and comfort serving as a lector at St. Mary Church in Windsor Locks, where the services will be held in his memory. He was a dedicated Little League baseball and soccer coach, an amateur artist, and also enjoyed regaling his family with theories about quantum mechanics and scientific phenomena.
