WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Cedarville University, Cedarville OH

  • Charles Ruckersfeldt, from Broad Brook, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Cedarville University. He also was named to the Dean's Honor List for spring 2025. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.75 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.

  • Erica Burns, Christin Smigielski, Sharon Bostock and Shanique Hastings-Vassell, all of Windsor Locks, were named to the spring 2025 President's List. The spring terms run from January to May.
    Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.
  • Jonathan Torres of Windsor Locks has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's spring 2025 Dean's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the Dean's List.

State University of New York, Potsdam NY

  • Jimmy Quagliaroli of Windsor Locks graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor of Music degree in music education. Commencement ceremonies took place on Saturday, May 17.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

  • Samantha Gough of Windsor Locks was one of 614 students to process at Stonehill College's 74th Commencement, held on Sunday, May 18, 2025. During the ceremony, former Red Sox announcer Joe Castiglione gave the keynote address.

University of Nebraska, Lincoln NE

  • Ashley Lynn Novak of Broad Brook was among 3,591 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 3, 17 and 18. Novak earned a Master of Arts from the Office of Graduate Studies.
