Cipriani Beat Because He Wouldn't Stop Bugging His Cellmate
The man behind a 2003 triple murder in Windsor Locks was beat unconscious by his cellmate because he kept pestering the man.

On Jan. 18, Cipriani, the man who orchestrated a 2003 triple murder in Windsor Locks, was taken to the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington and transferred to intensive care after sustaining serious, but not critical, injuries in the beating he received from Travis Hampton.
Hampton has been charged with second-degree assault for the attack, during which Cipriani sustained multi-fractures to his face and slight bleeding in the brain, according an affidavit for Hampton's arrest.

According to court records about the January 2010 incident, Cipriani "kept running his mount" to Hampton, who was on his bunk. Fed up, Hampton jumped off his bunk and put Cipriani in a chokehold and told him to leave him alone. Cipriani continued to badger Hampton and grabbed a pen, threatening to harm Hampton and to "watch his back," according to the affidavit.
Hampton told police that it was not the first time Cipriani had threatened him. Hampton struck Cipriani twice causing him to hit the cell door and then the floor, according to the affidavit. Hampton then removed he pen from Cipriani's hand and called for correctional officers, according to the document.
Correctional officers on the block heard a "loud bang" and went to find out what had happened. When they reached Hampton's and Cipriani's cell they heard Hampton use an expletive and tell them to get Cipriani out of the room, according to the warrant.
When officers removed Hampton from the cell, the man asked Cipriani, "Who you gonna kill?" and kicked him on the way out.
Officers called for medical staff to attend to Cipriani, who they saw was bleeding and unconscious on the floor.
Cipriani was then taken by ambulance to UConn Health Center, where he became combative and had to be sedated before being transferred to the intensive care unit, according to the court document.
