CT State Reps Join Army National Guard Groundbreaking Ceremony

From CT State Reps Office: State Representatives Tami Zawistowski (R-61) and Scott Storms (R-60) recently joined local, federal and other state dignitaries, Connecticut National Guard officials and members of the Army National Guard for the groundbreaking ceremony of the 14th Civil Support Team (CST) Readiness Center at Camp Hartell in Windsor Locks. The 23,759 square foot Ready Building will support 22 full-time personnel of the 14th Civil Support Team.

State Representative Scott Storms of the 60th District commented that he was pleased to see the National Guard's commitment to making their operations in Windsor Locks some of the best in the country. "General Martin and his staff are to be commended for their advocacy and efforts in obtaining federal support and funding for these significant projects and improvements", Rep. Storms said.

The facility received $11 million in federal funding and another $500,000 in state funding.

“Camp Hartell is surely a fixture within our community and I am excited to see that the facility is receiving the necessary funding in order to fit its needs,” said Rep. Zawistowski. “This first of its kind facility will not only serve the citizens of Connecticut, but will help with various tasks throughout the entire region.”

The facility, which will include an operations center, classroom, locker rooms, ready bays for vehicles, and administrative offices, is planned to be completed in the spring of 2018.
