Brayson, DeBella, Sayers, Schimanskey: Death Notices From Windsor Locks And East Windsor

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Windsor Locks and East Windsor.

Cecilia Brayson, 29, of Windsor Locks, passed from her earthly journey on June 1, 2025. Cecilia had resided in Windsor Locks for the past 26 years, and was a 2014 graduate of Windsor Locks High School. She had a passion for music, festivals, cooking, nature and animals, and she supported Feral Cats of East Windsor.

Francis DeBella, 76, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Maryann (Sirotnak) DeBella, passed away at home on May 28, 2025. His sense of duty and work ethic were formed early, working as a young man at Reilly's Gas Station in Windsor Locks where he made lifelong friendships that propelled him into his calling as a firefighter. He served as a Hartford firefighter for 38 years, earning the respect of his brothers and sisters in the department as a “firefighter’s firefighter.” Francis took great pride and joy doing all his years at Engine 14/Ladder 4 in Hartford. His dedication extended beyond his career — he also volunteered with the Windsor Locks Fire Department for 55 years, serving as assistant chief and leaving a lasting legacy of service and leadership.

Patrick Sayers, 88, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” Sayers, passed away at home on June 3, 2025. Patrick grew up in Ireland and immigrated to the United States at the age of 18, settling in Hartford. In 1963, after marrying Peggy, the couple made their home in Windsor Locks, where they raised their family and built a life rooted in love, tradition, and hard work. Patrick was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 15 and worked in the trade for many years before retiring. He also served in the Connecticut Army National Guard.

William Schimanskey Jr., 67, of Broad Brook, passed away on May 17, 2025. He lived in the South End of Hartford most of his life before moving to Broad Brook. Before retiring, he worked as a cross country truck driver. He had many friends who affectionately referred to him as Billy, BKID, and Missy (his niece Brittany’s pet name). He had many loves which included football (Chiefs fan), cruising in his many Cadillacs, and playing cards with his friends.
