DeLuco, Gowdy: Recent Death Notices From Windsor Locks And East Windsor

Condolences are extended to the families and friends of those who have recently died.

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Windsor Locks and East Windsor.

Richard DeLuco, 75, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of Jane (Brazalovich) DeLuco, passed away peacefully at home on June 20, 2025. He was a proud resident of Windsor Locks since the 1960s. After graduating high school, Richie honorably served his country as a U.S. Army infantryman during the Vietnam War. Returning home, he married Jane, and together they built a life and raised their children. Richie was the heart of his family and a loyal, steadfast friend. He cherished life’s simple pleasures - cheering for the New York Jets, playing golf, and watching classic westerns - but nothing brought him greater happiness than time spent with his loved ones, especially his granddaughter, Margot, who brought him endless joy.

Frank Gowdy Jr., 86, a longtime mathematics teacher at East Windsor High School and beloved husband of 43 years to Diane, died last week in the house he built in Melrose. Born in Enfield, Frank and his sister, Betty, grew up on a potato and tobacco farm. He attended the one-room Wallop School, but it was on the farm that he acquired his green thumb and his knack for fixing just about anything. He narrowly escaped a brush with disaster at the age of 5 when he survived the Hartford circus fire. He served on the East Windsor Planning and Zoning Commission for many years.
