East Windsor Acquires COVID-19 Test Kits, Reinstates Mask Mandate
At-home test kits will be provided free of charge Thursday afternoon at East Windsor Town Hall.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A severe spike in the COVID-19 case rate among East Windsor residents has prompted several courses of action by town officials, including free distribution of at-home testing kits.
Officials reported 102 cases of COVID-19 in East Windsor in the past seven days, causing the case rate per 100,000 people to skyrocket from 14.7 on Dec. 1 to 92.1 on Tuesday. Through a program approved by Gov. Ned Lamont, the town has procured at-home testing kits, which will be distributed free of charge Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the town hall at 11 Rye Street.
Residents are asked to park in the front parking lot and come to the town hall front door. After 7 p.m., tests may be obtained at the dispatch window of the East Windsor Police Department, located in the main lobby, on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Proof of residency is required, and families will be limited to no more than six tests per household.

Live virus PCR testing in conjunction with Priority Urgent Care is slated for Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Town Hall Annex at 25 School Street. About 50 tests will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A mandatory mask mandate has been reinstated for anyone inside a town-owned building, regardless of vaccination status. In-person meetings have also been suspended in town-owned buildings until at least Feb. 1; during that period, public boards and commissions will be able to conduct meetings remotely.
