East Windsor Officer Helps Save Injured Barred Owl
Barred owl struck by vehicle was safely transported for care by the town's animal control officer.
EAST WINDSOR, CT — An injured barred owl struck by a vehicle in East Windsor is recovering after being rescued and transported for care by the town’s Animal Control Officer, officials said.
Rebecca Wentworth, East Windsor’s Animal Control Officer, safely contained and transported the owl after it was found with head trauma. According to an update shared by A Place Called Hope, X-rays showed no broken bones, and caregivers said if the owl does not develop internal bleeding, they are hopeful for a full recovery. Barred owls are a year-round resident species in Connecticut.

The owl remains under observation as treatment continues.
