Gronda, Hopkins, Legnani: Recent Death Notices From Windsor Locks

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Windsor Locks.

Joseph Gronda, 92, beloved husband of the late Ethel (Fadden) Gronda; passed away on March 27, 2025. He graduated from Windsor Locks High School before joining the Army. After his honorable discharge, he earned two bachelor's degrees and pursued a career as an engineer in the aerospace industry at Pratt and Whitney until his retirement.

Richard Hopkins, 86, beloved husband of the late Joan Hopkins, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. Dick began his accomplished career as a high school English teacher and when duty called, became an officer in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of captain. He was a proud veteran who served his country and after several tours, began a long and successful career in the insurance industry.

Spencer Legnani, 32, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 21, 2025. A 2011 graduate of South Windsor High School, he went on to complete a year of post-graduate studies at Bristol Tech, specializing in welding. In 2024, he completed his master’s degree in engineering from the University of Connecticut. At the time of his death, Spencer was working as a manufacturing engineer at Pratt & Whitney.
