Bernard "Normand" Renouf, 96, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of the late Rita M. (Cousineau) Renouf, peacefully passed away at home on June 5, 2025. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a POW from 1951 to 1953. After his years of service, he met and married Rita, the love of his life. The couple shared many happy years together until her passing in 2021. He had a long career with Stanadyne as a pump repairman until his retirement at the age of 62. Bernard loved chess his entire life and it was his family’s obsession. In years past, holiday gatherings with his brothers’ and sisters’ families often turned into competitive chess tournaments in the back room of his sister’s home. Another of his passions was music.
