Condolences are extended to the families and friends of those who have recently died.
WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Here are some recent death notices from Windsor Locks and East Windsor.
Patricia (Eckert) Kruger, 90, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. She was raised in South Windsor on a dairy and tobacco farm, where she developed a lifelong love of horseback riding, especially with her beloved horse, Rusty. She worked as a computer programmer at Cigna, retiring in 1998, though she returned part-time until 2006. Patricia met the love of her life and dance partner of 34 years, Jeffrey Lupa, and together they became high-level ballroom dancers. Whether performing a graceful waltz or a sharp, stylish swing, Patricia danced with elegance and passion, often outshining dancers decades younger well into her 80s.
Dean Rasmussen, 82, of East Windsor, beloved husband of Caren (Brown) Rasmussen, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. In Nov. 1962, he joined the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. He patrolled the West Pacific Ocean and was off the coast of Vietnam during the war. Dean served for five years and was an E-6 Engineman First Class. In 1973, he started the Guarantee Service Co., then owned a self-storage business called Comfort Store, a large woodworking shop, and Main Street Auto. He owned the Broad Brook Opera House for several years.
