Library In Warehouse Point To Receive State Grant For Remodeling
Plans call for the updating and revitalization of the library's front entry on Main Street, which has been closed for more than 30 years.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A remodeling project for the library in Warehouse Point received a boost Friday, with approval by the State Bond Commission of $95,335 through the State Library as a grant-in-aid for the Library Association of Warehouse Point.
Plans call for the updating and revitalization of the library's front entry on Main Street, which has been closed for more than 30 years. Placement of a new electronic sign outside informing patrons of upcoming events is also in the works.
Visitors walking on Main Street will find a repaved Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant walkway leading up to the door, and an ADA compliant lobby will be constructed for the Main Street entrance. The glass doors and walls of the lobby will add more light, brightening the interior of the building, inviting people in and making library services more visible to the community.

Once inside the building, a modern circulation desk will welcome patrons as they enter past displays of new books. Windows near the handicapped ramp to the upper level of the children’s department will be upgraded to tempered glass to increase safe access on the ramp.
"I'm glad to see local support for important resources and community pillars," Sen. Saud Anwar said. "The Library Association's support will aid the remodeling that will keep it providing important services to town residents indefinitely."
