Picture East Windsor - Then And Now
An old photograph and brief story from East Windsor's past, and how that site appears today.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — After several years of dormancy, today we are reviving this periodic informal history series, highlighting buildings and landmarks from East Windsor's past and what those locations look like today.
This offering comes from a great picture book called Images of America: East Windsor. Released in 2017, the book was compiled by Ceil Donahue and Jessica Bottomley for the East Windsor Historical Society.
On page 43 is an undated photo of East Windsor's only covered bridge, at the junction of Woolam and Omelia roads. Built in 1842, the bridge spanned the Scantic River just downstream from Osborn's Mill.

In 1928, the covered bridge was knocked down and replaced with a modern bridge, now known as the Osborn's Mill Bridge.
