Raccoon Found In Windsor Locks Tests Positive For Rabies
Police have posted tips for pet owners on ways to prevent the spread of rabies.
WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A raccoon found interacting with several dogs has tested positive for rabies, according to the Windsor Locks Police Department.
According to the World Health Organization, rabies is a viral disease which causes encephalitis, or inflammation of the brain, in animals and humans. It is often fatal.
Late Monday morning, police posted the following notice on its social media pages:
