Segment Of Route 191 Closed In East Windsor Until Early January: DOT
Reconstruction work adjacent to the Stiles Bridge in Broad Brook will require motorists to follow detours into early January.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — Reconstruction work is underway on a segment of Route 191 adjacent to the Scantic River in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, prompting detours which will be in effect for about five weeks.
Bridge No. 01524, known locally as the Stiles Bridge, is being replaced with a steel beam, reinforced cast in place concrete deck superstructure on top of precast abutment stems that rest on cast in place footings with deep foundations. The road profile will be raised about four feet, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT).
Route 191 at Mahoney Road is expected to be closed to traffic through Saturday, Jan. 4. Northbound traffic is detoured to Route 5 north, then right onto Route 140 east. Southbound motorists are being detoured to Route 140 west, then left onto Route 5 south, according to the DOT.
