EAST WINDSOR, CT — Police and fire officials are advising motorists to avoid the southern portion of Route 5 in East Windsor following a Wednesday morning collision in which a car crashed into a utility pole.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Warehouse Point Fire Department said the "road will be closed for an extended period of time" in the area of 238 South Main Street, between Abbe and Scantic roads.

Personnel from the Warehouse Point and Broad Brook fire departments were working at the scene alongside East Windsor police. There was no immediate report on any possible injuries.
