Spirit Airlines To Discontinue Service To Bradley International Airport
The decision comes amid the airline's restructuring efforts.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Spirit Airlines will no longer be offering service at Bradley International Airport as of Oct. 31.
Cameryn Junck, a spokesperson for Spirit, said the decision is part of the airline’s ongoing restructuring efforts.
“We have adjusted our upcoming schedule to focus on our strongest markets,” Junck said.

“We thank our airport, business and community partners in Connecticut and Minnesota for their support over the years,” Junck said, via an emailed statement. “While we routinely evaluate and adjust our network as appropriate, we do not anticipate any additional airport exits in the near future.”
Spirit Aviation Holdings Inc., the parent company of Spirit Airlines LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August. This is its second recent bankruptcy filing. This latest one will allow the airline to undergo a “comprehensive restructuring,” according to the company.
“The company has continued to be affected by adverse market conditions, including elevated domestic capacity and continued weak demand for domestic leisure travel in the second quarter of 2025, resulting in a challenging pricing environment,” the company indicated in a report outlining its second quarter performance. “The company continues to experience challenges and uncertainties in its business operations and expects these trends to continue for at least the remainder of 2025.”
The budget airline company reported a $245 million net loss for the quarter ending June 30, compared to a $192 million loss in the same period last year.
Spirit has undertaken cost saving measures in an effort to improve its financial situation, including worker furloughs and these latest airport service changes.
