Spring Practice Underway: Windsor Locks And East Windsor Team Titles
A look at the state title history for spring teams at Windsor Locks and East Windsor high schools, plus now-defunct Ellsworth High School.
WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — The winter sports season is now behind us, the calendar has turned to spring, high school practices are well underway and opening day looms around the corner for all seven CIAC-sanctioned spring sports in Connecticut. With the coming of the new season comes the hope for success, with the ultimate goal being winning a state championship.
Windsor Locks High School's four spring team state titles date back to 1966, while the lone state crown for an East Windsor spring team came in 1972.
NOTE: prior to the opening of East Windsor High School in Sept. 1955, secondary school students from that town attended Ellsworth Memorial High School in South Windsor. Spring championship histories for Ellsworth are included here.
