Stolen Gun, Fentanyl, Cocaine Seized After Traffic Stop In East Windsor: Police
Police say a K-9 alert during a traffic stop led to the seizure of a stolen firearm and large quantities of narcotics.
EAST WINDSOR, CT — A routine traffic stop this past weekend on Bridge Street led to the seizure of a stolen firearm and a large quantity of narcotics, according to the East Windsor Police Department.
Police said Officer Hacia stopped a vehicle Friday evening for motor vehicle violations and, during the roadside interview, suspected additional criminal activity based on his training. The South Windsor Police Department K-9 Unit responded, and K-9 Mason alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a stolen firearm, a large quantity of cocaine and fentanyl, police said.

As a result of the investigation, the suspect was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and motor vehicle violations.

Police said the unidentified suspect was held on a $250,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Monday.
East Windsor police credited Officer Hacia and K-9 Mason for their work during the investigation.
Charges are allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
