Vote On Use Of Rescue Act Funds At Windsor Locks Meeting Tuesday
Electors and citizens can vote on the Board of Selectmen's recommended usage of the town's American Rescue Plan Act money at a town meeting.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — The Windsor Locks Board of Selectmen has outlined four uses for the money its town received through the American Rescue Plan Act — and electors and citizens can vote on its recommendations Tuesday night.
A town meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Windsor Locks City Hall (aka the Mario L. Gatti Town Office Building) at 50 Church St.
It will be held for "electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Windsor Locks, Connecticut," officials said on the meeting's agenda.

A vote will be taken on allocations previously recommended by the Board of Selectmen: $50,000 for housing insecurity, $20,000 for food insecurity, $25,000 for heating insecurity, and $29,000 for a vehicle for youth programs and food pantry transportation.
Each allocation will be voted on individually during the meeting.

The allocation plan was approved by both the selectmen and the Board of Finance after the Board of Selectmen voted 2-1 to require both groups' approval before expenditures over $10,000 could go to a town meeting, the Journal Inquirer reported.
First Selectman J. Christopher Kervick opposed that plan, arguing that requiring approval from both boards before citizens can have their say goes against the town's legislative body, according to the Journal Inquirer.
