Windsor Locks-East Windsor 2024 Election Results: Incumbents All Win

The polls have closed in Windsor Locks and East Windsor for the 2024 election, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.

Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

With just over 70 percent of the precincts reporting, Fox61 declared longtime Democratic incumbent John Larson the victor over Republican challenger Jim Griffin and Green Party candidate Mary Sanders in the battle for the District 1 seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

State Senator Saud Anwar retained the 3rd District seat, representing East Hartford, East Windsor, Ellington and South Windsor. The Democrat held an unofficial margin of 63.7 percent to 36.3 for Republican Matt Siracusa.

"Having the opportunity to return to the Senate and continue efforts to protect public health, build our economy, support our environment and benefit our communities is a great honor," Anwar said. "I could not be more proud to hold this vital role and work to further improve our state and ensure our residents thrive. I’m thankful to all of my supporters and will not let them down."

The 7th Senatorial District was again won by longtime incumbent Republican John Kissel, defeating challenger Cynthia Mangini.

Jaime Foster, an incumbent Democrat representing District 57, will return to Hartford after topping challenger Jennifer Dzen. In one of the tightest races in the area, incumbent Republican Carol Hall prevailed in General Assembly District 59 by less than a percentage point over challenger Rick LeBorious.

Two other incumbents won re-election to their General Assembly seats. Democrat Jane Garibay soundly outdistanced Republican challenger Len Walker in the 60th District, while Republican Tami Zawistowski topped Democrat Michael Malloy in the 61st.
