Windsor Locks Fire Lt. Andrew "Drew" Hill Dies At 52, Mourned

Hill joined the fire department in August 2001 and was promoted to Lieutenant in December 2023.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — The Windsor Locks Fire Department is mourning the death of active duty Lieutenant Andrew "Drew" Hill, who died on Saturday at the age of 52.

Hill joined the fire department in August 2001 and was promoted to Lieutenant in December 2023. Much of his time in the fire department, he was an Apparatus Steward, helping to ensure the safety and performance of our critical equipment, fire officials said.

He was an avid participant or coordinator in their community involvement with the town Trunk or Treat, Holiday Torchlight, and Honor Flight events.

His daughters, Amber and Kayleigh, followed in his footsteps as members of the Department and Explorer/Cadet program, fire officials said.

"Hill and his wife, Michelle, are proud Marine Corps veterans who have dedicated countless hours to the veteran community in town and beyond," the fire department shared on social media. "...Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

The Windsor Locks Police Department said they send their "thoughts and prayers to the Hill family and the WL Fire Department after the loss of one of their own....Thank you for your service to our country with the US Marine Corps, and to our WLFD for the past 22 years."
