MANCHESTER, CT — A Windsor Locks man died after being located in a running car in Manchester Tuesday morning, police in that town said.

According to an incident report, at 3:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Irving Street and Woodland Street after they received a call about a vehicle idling on the side of the road with an unconscious driver inside.

Upon arrival, officers located a man, identified as Jordan Patterson, 24, of Windsor Locks, in the driver’s seat. Officers and responding medical personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures, but despite those efforts, Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said Patterson had sustained a single gunshot wound to the torso.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident and no arrests have been made. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist in the investigation can contact the MPD at 860-645-5546.
